You have found the CPR Steam Locomotive database. Though this site has been operational since 2002 it
is still a very much a work in progress. The database currently holds some 8000 records which document
the history and lifecycle, from construction to disposal, of all 3,257 steam locomotives the Canadian
  Pacific Railway operated since 1881.
The site also contains over 3,300 photographs, and stories associated with many of the locomotives, as well
as the location and the current status of locomotives still in preserved.

Since this site is built on a database, you can see many different views of the data.
For example, lists of locomotives by year and month built or scrapped, by type or class, by builder, by owner
and much more. This site intends to be a research tool and is available free of charge and is a
Not for Profit by any means.
